About Concert In The Cove

Concert In The Cove is an annual concert benefitting the Shelli Roden Memorial Foundation (SRMF). The event started as "just a concert"--a fun family event accessible by boat put on by and for members and friends of the Lake Wedowee community. When Shelli Roden, a lifelong member of that community and daughter of concert organizer Terry & Cindy Kemp, was diagnosed with cancer, the concert evolved into a way that the community could come together to support her recovery. Since Shelli's passing and the establishment of SRMF, Concert In The Cove has evolved once again into an event dedicated to Shelli's memory and carrying on her legacy as a fundraiser for SRMF. Each year, proceeds from the concert, t-shirt sales, and live auction are divided between several families selected prior to the event by SRMF who are in need of financial relief. To date, the concert has raised over $85,000 to assist families in crisis in West Georgia and East Alabama--a testament to Shelli, the work of the foundation, and the giving spirit of all involved in making Concert In The Cove a yearly success.
